“High Winds, Sennen” by Christine Brunnock

Today saw our first sale on behalf of St Ives artist Christine Brunnock; “High Winds, Sennen” (acrylic on canvas).

Christine grew up in St Ives where she continues to live. The Cornish environment provides her with a constant source of inspiration for painting. Largely self-taught, she uses acrylic/mixed media to produce highly emotional and atmospheric figurative/semi-abstract paintings; ranging from calm and peaceful to volatile and dramatic. Always sensitive and responsive; capturing a breathtaking moment in space and time.

“Sunset” by Amanda Clark

We introduced Amanda Clark’s work to the Alverton Gallery in mid-December 2015 and already three sales have been achieved including “Sunset”, a limited edition print.

Amanda’s paintings are a rich tapestry of colour inspired by the English countryside, myths and folklore.

Her paintings have another wordly presence within a comtemporary style that is almost reminiscent of fairytales.

Amanda comes from an artistic family and has painted professionally for 15 years, her work can be found in private collections worldwide.

She has illustrated four books and is planning to write and illustrate a book of her own in 2012.

“Heavy Sky at the Mount” – Ali Cockrean

We are pleased to announce our first sale on behalf of local expressionist artist Ali Cockrean – “Heavy Sky at the Mount” (acrylic.)

Ali Cockrean studied at the Central St Martins College of Art and Design and Slade School of Fine Art, but considers her skills to have been largely self-taught. She is an expressionist landscape painter with paintings in collections across the world including Europe, Hong Kong, the USA and Canada. Her career has been boosted by significant private commissions and a growing profile following the success of shows in London (Cork Street, The Mall Galleries, Mayfair, The Strand and Notting Hill) and regional galleries (Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Bristol, Cornwall and Wales.) She has also featured on BBC TV and radio, her most notable appearance being in 2012 after she was commissioned by BBC1 to paint the Queen’s Jubilee River Pageant live from the Millennium Bridge.

Ali works exclusively in acrylics which best suits her style of painting. She is a member of the National Acrylic Painters’ Association (NAPA) and Buckinghamshire Art Society and is a full-time professional artist working from her studio in Buckinghamshire until her recent move to Cornwall in 2015. Besides devoting time to her own painting, Ali is also passionate about working with aspiring artists; giving talks, demonstrating technique, tutoring adults and children as well as writing articles for national art publications including Artist and Illustrator and Paint, the Society for All Artists Magazine.
