David Muddyman
David is a self-taught Devon-based artist who works in a variety of media. His paintings are nearly always landscape based but can move towards abstractions, where shapes and contours from the landscape are used in a non-representational manner.
There is an underlying theme that runs through his paintings, which is the idea of sanctuary.
This can be perceived as space to think, space to dream or simply somewhere he can immerse himself in the sights, sounds and smell of the landscape he is painting and to convey his emotional responses to those landscapes.
