Painting & Pictures
Ges Wilson makes figurative and semi abstract landscape paintings but focussing more on emotion and memory than factual record. She uses all manner of means to apply the paint to her canvasses from hands to sticks and occasionally brushes. Working in layers, often scrubbing back to achieve a lively texture. She does important work for the Tate St Ives, writing teaching notes for their exhibitions and often leading walks and talks when she is not surfing or helping maintain ancient sea going vessels.
