Jon Tremaine

Exhibition: October 6th to November 4th with a demonstration day on Saturday October 9th

Every so often an artist bursts on to the local scene with such a bang that it seems unlikely that anyone will have missed spotting them.

Jon Tremaine is just such an artist who has made a sudden impact on the art scene here in West Cornwall this year. His fine graphic drawing of animals building into another animal form are marvellously intricate and intriguing.

His ‘Otter’ drawing took 88hours of patient work with the brown trout component within it taking more than two hours alone. Jon captures the expressions and exact poses of his birds and beasts even while entwining their bodies together into the whole. Nature sits on his doorstep in a small wildlife reserve in Maenporth near Falmouth, inspiring him and guiding his hand. Jon will be demonstrating his techniques to accompany his exhibition at The Alverton Gallery on a

Demonstration Day on Saturday October 9th, 11 am to 4pm. Tea, coffee & cakes will be on tap while you enjoy Jon’s demonstration. His original work as well as prints and cards will be available to purchase along with the usual stable of more than seventy artists and makers.
