Ros Cockram
Ros gained a B.A. degree in Fashion/Textiles at Loughborough College of Art and Design.
She then worked as a designer in the London Fashion and Textile industry for some years.
Following this, she moved to Dorset and was a Lecturer on a Foundation Art Course (two dimensional design) for some years. Whilst teaching she also worked as a freelance designer-maker.
She now lives and works in North Devon with her potter husband Roger.
Currently she paints in her studio for part of the week and employs a highly detailed and figurative style, presently using gouache and watercolour.
All Ros’ work is painted from life and because the cut flowers would not survive sufficiently long for her detailed technique, she employs her skills as a designer to achieve the final composition herself, as each subject comes into bloom.
Her paintings are sold through exhibitions, by commission and through the Internet.
