£5.00 – £10.00
ALVERTON PHOTO CONTEST
Our latest photo contest entitled ‘Black and White Street Photography” is now CLOSED, judging has taken place and we are pleased to announce the top winners, details of which can be found on this link:
To explain the theme, all images must be monochrome (film or digital) and we’re going with the Wikipedia definition of Street Photography, as follows: “Street photography, also sometimes called candid photography, is photography conducted for art or enquiry that features unmediated chance encounters and random incidents within public places. Although there is a difference between street and candid photography, it is usually subtle with most street photography being candid in nature but not all candid photography being classifiable as street photography. Street photography does not necessitate the presence of a street or even the urban environment. Though people usually feature directly, street photography might be absent of people and can be of an object or environment where the image projects a decidedly human character.”
The images must have been taken between 5 March 2016 and 5 March 2018 and not have won prizes in any previous competitions. The contest is open to amateurs only, and the photos can be taken anywhere in the world except where prohibited by law. Among the other prizes on offer, the top three winning entries will be framed and displayed in our gallery for thirty days. To enter please send your images as email attachments to email@example.com – please see the rules below for the extra stuff you need to do when submitting, and the alternative methods of entry. The fees are £5 for one entry, £8 for two images and £10 for three; there is no limit to the number of images an entrant can submit. Details of how to pay, the prizes and the full competition rules are set out below. We look forward to seeing your work in the gallery.
