Contemporary fine-art printmaking: Sally Corbet
15 x 9.5 cm
24 x 19 cm mounted
Sally Corbet is a university biologist with a special interest in flowers and pollination. After retiring from university teaching she studied printmaking at the Penzance Art School and the Porthmeor Printmakers’ Workshop in St Ives. Most of her prints are etchings of flowers. She uses steel, rather than copper, because of the intense colours produced by open biting on steel, and the etchings usually involve two or three plates inked in different colours. She also makes screen prints and linocuts.
